October’s STEM Day at Rajdhani Mandir

Rajdhani Mandir's October STEM Day was an exciting and educational event that took place on a sunny October morning. The temple's premises were buzzing with energy as eager young minds gathered to delve into the captivating world of STEM. The event featured two engaging sessions, each lasting two hours, which focused on electrical engineering and physics. Through hands-on activities like building paper circuits and catapults, the students got a chance to explore the fascinating concepts that underlie our modern world.

The first session of Rajdhani Mandir's October STEM Day was all about electrical engineering. It aimed to introduce the students to the fundamental principles of electrical circuits in an accessible and hands-on way. To do this, the organizers had an exciting activity planned: building paper circuits. The students were provided with a kit containing basic circuit components such as LEDs, coin cell batteries, copper tape, and various crafting supplies. Guided by experienced mentors, the young learners started constructing simple circuits on sheets of paper.

During the activity, students learned about circuit components, including how electrical energy flows from the battery to the LED, completing the circuit and causing it to light up. They also grasped the importance of a closed circuit and how to create it using copper tape to connect the various components. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into the world of electrical engineering, sparking curiosity and inspiring future engineers.

After the session on electrical engineering, it was time for a thrilling dive into the world of physics. In the second session, students explored concepts related to force, motion, and energy by building catapults. This hands-on activity showcased the fascinating intersection of science and engineering.

The young scientists were given all the materials they needed to construct their own catapults, including wooden sticks, rubber bands, and small projectiles. With the guidance of expert instructors, they learned how to design, assemble, and adjust their catapults to achieve the desired results. This exercise helped them understand key physics principles like potential and kinetic energy, launch angles, and force.

The highlight of the session was undoubtedly the launch competition, where students put their catapults to the test, aiming for accuracy and distance. Each group eagerly watched their projectiles soar through the air, and the friendly competition added an extra layer of fun to the learning experience.

Rajdhani Mandir's October STEM Day proved to be a remarkable event that brought the worlds of electrical engineering and physics to life for young learners. Through the engaging activities of building paper circuits and catapults, students gained hands-on experience with fundamental STEM concepts. They were able to appreciate the real-world applications of these principles, and many left with a newfound passion for science and technology.
